In just a few scenes Dr Cara Roberts endeared herself to me. I love that she has eyes and ears only for Sam! Dean's amped up charm doesn't gain him more than a cursory glance 😄

Dean's grumpiness at Sam and Dr Cara's interactions and Sam's adorable shyness is so funny. It's like he's channeling Sam's bitchfaces and eye rolls but a little more subtly!

Cause my brain's been running with it a lil and... it would be kinda cool if he meets his siter who FOR SOME REASON has powers like the special children. Cause maybe there was somewhere a zealous demon follower of yellow eyes that made sure the sex Sam had with Dr Cara Roberts (from sex and violence) ended in a pregnancy.

I would kinda looove for her to maybe fall to her powers more like Ava Wilson and for her and Dean Jr to have to deal with that, on top of whatever that zealous yellow eyes follower has planned.

Maybe they could even touch on the possibility of Azazel being a fallen angel and get heaven involved. But that would be HIGHLY optional.

I have thought about something similar as well but my idea was more for an AU in the revival. Probably I am stealing from TW (not sure since I haven't watched it only heard references) here but maybe Dean jumps into another reality and comes face to face with DJ and they are obviously very wary of each other for a sec until Sam comes on the scene and calls out "Dean" and they both respond at the same time.

In this reality Sam has two kids DJ and a younger daughter with Jessica (things are not going that well in their marriage or they are divorced) and Sam is a very successful attorney. I would like for DJ to be a pre-teen and the daughter even younger. Sam's life is well put together except that he does have visions and similar other dormant powers that he has suspected for a long time. That's why he has sort of voluntarily strained his relationship with Jessica coz he wants her away in case anything happens to him.

Obviously Sam is not immediately trusting of Dean coz his relationship with his brother from this reality is really bad and they haven't been in touch for years and ended on really bad terms. However, Dean wants to stick around with his brother and niece & nephew for a few days to get to know them a little. As he does that, he realises that Sam is surrounded by all the demons from his reality from Azazel to Ruby to Meg to Brady.

Azazel could be the guy who gave Sam a chance early on and Sam holds in high regard almost telling Dean, that Azazel did for him what John never did. Similarly Brady is his best friend still who he trusts with his life for something to this effect. There could be other folks as well such as Sarah, Bobby etc

The plot can develop from there with him enlisting Bobby and maybe Rufus's help to figure out the demon nexus while Sam is struggling with his own demons and not telling Dean everything about what's going on with him. Also, maybe Sam suspects that maybe whatever is going on with him is also going with DJ but actually it's his younger daughter who maybe a psychic. He eventually shares his fears about his children with Dean but still doesn't tell him everything neither does Dean tell him his fears about the demon. That will make for good drama when they eventually do after getting closure again.

Eventually they talk about John and maybe the plot of the next season is John showing up after years being underground. John is vary for both Sam and his daughter but he is torn since firstly its Sam and secondly the daughter is named after Mary by Sam.

Thanks for the ask..... I guess I was thinking how the Winchester dynamic could play out in the later seasons.

Sex and Violence (4x14)

Okay, so there are two things in this episode that are worth mentioning. The first is Sam and Dr. Cara Roberts flirting heavily through the episode until they have hot, hot office sex. Yes, please.

Honestly, it’s just nice to see him get some non-supernatural action for once.

The second is, of course, how our monster of the week, a Siren who has been taking on the form of a female stripper to seduce her victims and then asks them to kill their wives or, as was the case with the one single guy, mother. But puzzlingly enough, the Siren takes on the form of a guy to seduce Dean. 

Now, a whole lot of folks point to this as evidence that Dean is actually bisexual, despite his repeated insistence that he doesn’t swing that way. But I think this view misses the even bigger potential elephant in the room. 

So yeah, at first glance it is weird that the siren would switch up its MO when it goes after Dean, except for the fact that Dean is a weird guy. His life has been anything but normal, growing up like he did, he has attachment and trust issues of truly epic proportions thanks to John’s questionable parenting techniques. He is emotionally enmeshed with his brother because taking care of his brother has been his prime directive since he was four years old. And at this point in the larger story arc, Sam is pulling away, sneaking around with Ruby, and Dean is not able to fully trust him. He is afraid that he will lose Sam, again. Sam who is the only remaining blood family he has, and his only real friend. When you take that into consideration, it isn’t as weird that a brother substitute would be more likely to work with him than a woman, who Dean is not looking to get into anything serious with anyway, not now. 

So if we set sex and romantic love aside for a moment and look at what the siren is really doing we see that it is insinuating itself into its victim’s lives as a replacement for their significant other, and then getting the victim to kill their significant other. Sam is, for all practical purposes, Dean’s significant other, so if the siren wants to lure Dean in and get him to kill Sam, then it needs to replace Sam as Dean’s brother. Is that weird? Yep. But that’s just how this show is. 

“I gave him what he needed, and it wasn’t some bitch in a g-string, it was you. A little brother that looks up to him, that he can trust.”

So the siren being a guy for Dean doesn’t mean that Dean is bisexual, it just means that he is emotionally damaged enough so that he doesn’t work the same way the other victims did, and honestly, that should have been a huge red flag to the siren to pick a different target. 

Oh and one final point, notice that the siren doesn’t change when it poisons Sam. It just glicks in his mouth and sets them on each other. Because what Sam really wants too is a brother that respects him as an equal.

So I've read quite a few siren theories on SPN and a lot of these are written from a perspective to either show the brothers as bi or to ship them. Which is fine. I'm not challenging that. But I'm gonna take a different route and not make this whole siren thing into something purely sexual. So we know how SPN sort of takes inspiration from lore but also add its own twist right? What if.. we keep the sexual notes aside and look at the siren as nothing but exactly what djinn does. Gives you what you desire the most (think non-sexually for a while with me). In Dean's case, it's a brother who looks upto him. Has the same kinda love for the impala, rock music and strippers. That's exactly how we see the siren mold itself around Dean. It turns into this perfect little brother for him. In Sam's case, what he really wants is quite subtle. It's not Lilith's head on a stick, or a brother to boss around. it's be treated like a true hunter. To be treated equally.

Dr. Mabuse the Gambler is a four-and-a-half-hour movie, and I've seen two-hour movies that felt longer. It zips along because Fritz Lang never fails to give us something to look at and anticipate. There is, first and foremost, the almost literally hypnotic performance of Rudolf Klein-Rogge as Mabuse, a role that could have degenerated into mere villainous mannerisms. There is his dogged and thwarted but always charismatic opponent, von Wenk (Bernhard Goetzke), who seems on occasion to resist Mabuse's power by mere force of cheekbones. There is the extraordinary art decoration provided by Otto Hunte and Erich Kettelhut, which often gives the film its nightmare power: Consider, for example, the exceedingly odd stage decor provided for the Folies-Bergère performance by Cara Carozza (Aud Egede-Nissen), in which she contends with gigantic heads with phallic noses (or perhaps beaks), or the collection of primitive and Expressionist art belonging to the effete Count Told (Alfred Abel). The story itself, adapted from the novel by Norbert Jacques by Lang's wife-to-be Thea von Harbou, is typically melodramatic stuff about a megalomaniac psychiatrist, who uses his powers to become a master criminal. But l think it succeeds not only because it has so much to say about the period in which it was made but also because of our continuing fascination with mind control. It sometimes feels like there's a little Mabuse in everyone who seeks power. Somehow we continually lose our skepticism, born of hard experience, about the manipulators and find ourselves once again yielding to them. And somehow we usually, like von Wenk, find a way to pull ourselves back from the brink. But, as Lang himself experienced, we don't always manage to do so.
